Thank yous very much for your response, yet, that does not work. That setting is already turned off. I've tried turning it on and off again, rebooting and none of the options I've chosen work. I take Cortana turned off and everything else related to handwriting and nevertheless I go that console. I would love, love, dear to find a way to get rid of it. It truly is an annoyance.

I have tried the aforementioned, and it did not work. I sincerely hope Microsoft will listen to the user on this. It is very irritating to accept to make 2 extra taps toget upwardly the proper keyboard every time you lot want to write something.

Please make Windows x call up the concluding keyboard method used. Having to switch from the handwriting input to onscreen keyboard every time I enter text is ridiculous.

So, I've solved my problem, though I suspect my solution is not what Microsoft had in mind. This won't work for actual tablet users that are using the touch keyboard just not the handwriting panel. I am using a PC with a wacom and this solution turned off the handwriting panel that was so abrasive.
- start
- settings
- search "services "
- view local services
- when the box pops up that shows all the services, look for the service labeled Affect keyboard and handwriting console
- click on it and right click, change the setting to manual, then select stop to stop the service

This is what I have been looking for ever since I got my Surface Pro 3. Not being able to disable the handwriting every fourth dimension I type in a text field was beginning to become frustrating. Your advise helped out then much.

Here's a Quick Fix 2 concord yous over until Microsoft Fixes it !!!
All you lot take to do is open the "On-Screen Keyboard".
(This can be establish using search or past going to the 'Ease of Admission' section of the settings.)
Once its open you can slide it down to the bottom of the screen out of site, or ready it to "Fade", or in a identify of your choosing...
Now Equally long as this 'On-Screen Keyboard' is active, this stops the Handwriting Panel from popping up.
***Problem SOLVED**
Yet it also stops the Impact keyboard from popping up as well. but if you are using a Wacom tablet and then u probly also have a physical keyboard anyhow.
[[P.South. I propose 'pinning' this app to the taskbar', that way its always just a click away. Besides u have the option to fix the 'On-Screen Keyboard' to ever commencement automatically when you start windows.]]

Just in case at that place is defoliation...I found "Fade" as cardinal on the On-Screen Keyboard. At that place is also a NAV fundamental that minimizes the keyboard to a unproblematic strip with a few useful keys present -- this has the advantage of getting the whole thing out of the way. I am driven crazy past having the handwriting pad come up every fourth dimension I ask for the keyboard from the keyboard icon that tin can be activated on the taskbar. I did already figure out to pivot this On-Screen Keyboard app to the taskbar instead. Merely I couldn't figure out how to keep it upward on my Surface 3 Pro without using significant screen space. The Fade key makes the keyboard fade to a "shadow". The NAV key minimizes it only leaves it visible and like shooting fish in a barrel to access. There is also an Upwards and Down primal that places the keyboard on top or on the bottom of the screen. Thank you guys!
